How to Receive Services?


Due to changes in grant funding, H.O.M.E. Center is not currently making new placements in motels for shelter, except for our veterans’ program. You can contact us by clicking here if you have questions regarding additional services provided by H.O.M.E. Center.

If you are a homeless veteran seeking temporary shelter, or case management services, please reach out to us about our veterans’ program that assists individuals with obtaining housing.

H.O.M.E. Center is a case management program for individuals who are currently experiencing homelessness, those who are at risk of becoming unhoused or those who have experienced being unhoused in the past 3 months. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call the Crisis Hotline at 1-877-466-0660. You can also call the national crisis hotline at 988. For other crisis resources, visit https://namitexas.org/crisis/.

If you need shelter services in Hays County please call Southside Community Center or go to their website to get more information. If you are hungry, there is a daily meal at 4 pm at their location, 518 South Guadalupe St. You can also call and schedule a time to do laundry and use their hygiene facilities.

If you are attempting to get out of an abusive relationship and need shelter, call the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center. They also provide counseling services related to trauma or abuse (all genders and ages), legal advocacy, and a crisis team that specializes in abuse and trauma. Call the Scheib Mental Health Center for mental healthcare assistance in Hays county. For more information call the number below. You can also go in person Monday-Friday between 8 am-11 and 1-3 pm to complete the intake process.

You will be required to provide proof of income, residency, identity in the form of your ID (birth certificate for children, as well as guardian’s ID), and proof of insurance (if you have coverage). If you do not have income or residency, you can still receive services, you will just need to sign an attestation that you have neither of those things.
